One is a container you fill on your own schedule. The other is a crew that carries it out. The job decides, not the marketing.
The difference is who lifts it and how long you have.
These get marketed as competitors and they are really two different tools. A roll-off container arrives, sits on your property, and gets filled by you across the length of the rental. Junk removal is people: a crew shows up, carries things out, and takes them away on the same visit.
A container is the right tool when
- The debris arrives over days, not in one afternoon: a remodel, a tear-off, a phased cleanout
- You or a trade crew are already on site and can load as you go
- The material is bulky construction debris rather than a handful of awkward items
- You want the schedule under your control rather than someone else's
A crew is the right tool when
- It is a small number of heavy items and nobody available can lift them
- You want it gone today and gone completely, in one visit
- There is nowhere on the property a container can legally or safely sit

What is the actual difference?
Who does the lifting and how long you have. A roll-off container is dropped on your property, you fill it on your own schedule, and it gets hauled when you say. Junk removal is a crew that arrives, carries it out, and leaves with it the same visit.
Which one is cheaper?
This page does not compare prices across two different businesses, because we only publish one operator's rates and comparing them to an unnamed competitor's would be inventing half the comparison. Published container rates by size and rental length are on the sizes & pricing page.
How long do I get to fill it?
The rental period is published by size and duration, and it can be extended for $10 per day if the job runs long. There is also a $10 per day charge after 7 days of no activity, so a container that sits untouched is not free to leave sitting.
What if I cannot lift the heavy things?
Then a container is the wrong tool and you want a crew. This site rents containers. Being straight about that is more useful than talking you into the wrong one.
What if I only have a few items?
A few items is usually the junk-removal case. Where a container starts winning is a sustained job: a remodel, a roof tear-off, a whole-house or garage cleanout, a landscaping clearance. Anything that produces debris across days rather than in one afternoon.
Can I put anything in a container that a junk crew would take?
Not quite. The legal exclusions apply to the container either way: no paint, herbicides, pesticides, asbestos, chemicals, oil, tires, fuels, electronics or appliances with Freon. The what fits page has the full list.
What happens if I go over the weight limit?
Overweight loads are charged $30 per half ton over the included 2 ton capacity, which works out to $60 per ton. The weight limits page explains which materials get you there and how to avoid it.
How fast can a box land?
Same-day delivery service is offered, with the crew's own recommendation to order at least 24 hours ahead so a container is available. Their own guidance is to expect delivery the day after the agreement is made. No delivery time is promised on this page, because they publish none, so ask on the call.
